  • Lansing married Elizabeth and Maria Yates, who were sisters.
  • Some sources give his name as "Charles J. Lansing" but he is clearly identified by his marriage to the Yates sisters and his name given during the marriage was "Christopher J Lansing." (see the gravestone and notes for his first two wives)
  • There was considerable confusion arising from his having spent time living in both Nevada City (CA), Nevada County (CA), and multiple locations in the state of Nevada.
