Born: October 18, 1852 in Orland, Maine
Died (in office): June 16, 1916 in South San Francisco, CA

1884-1886: Deputy U.S. Surveyor of Customs, Port of San Francisco
1889-1893: Deputy U.S. Shipping Commission of San Francisco
1911: Opponent, Proposition 18 ("Giving the legislature the power to establish inferior courts")
1915: Candidate for Assembly Speaker (Lost; 20 to 55)

  • Recall: Brown was one of 10 State Assemblymen (and 14 Legislators overall) who voted against SCA 23 (1911), which gave California voters the ability to recall statewide and legislative elected officials.
