  • Tunney, a roommate of Ted Kennedy at the University of Virginia School of Law in the 1950s, was called by Kennedy on the morning after the Chappaquiddick incident. According to several accounts, Kennedy called Tunney (asking him to come to Hyannis Port) prior to notifying local police about the accident.
