  • An incumbent who lost their party primary (in 1976).
  • LEGAL TROUBLES: In May 1975, Hinshaw was charged with 11 felonies, eight of which were dismissed prior to trial. In January 1976, Hinshaw was found not guilty of one charge and guilty of two felony charges of bribery "for acts occurring while he served as assessor of Orange County."
