1972-1976: Member, Ceres City Council
1974-1976: Mayor, City of Ceres
1976-1982: Member, Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors
1989: Resigned from the State Assembly on September 20.
2002: Primary Candidate for CD-18 (Lost; 38.7%)

• LEGAL ISSUES: During the last years of his term, Condit was investigated in connection with the dissapearance of Chandra Levy, an intern in his Washington DC office. The disappearance, later determined to be a homicide, eventually led to the conviction of Ingmar A. Guandique (a citizen of El Salvador who was in the U.S. illegally) in 2010. In 2006, Condit sued the Sonoran News for 'defamation of character' after it printed an article about the Levy investigation. The case was dismissed in 2007.  
• An incumbent who lost their party primary (in 2002).
• Chad Condit was a 2022 Primary candidate for AD-22. He lost in the primary, coming in third of five candidates with 20.3%. Condit served as Chief of Staff to State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (2023-present)
