Candidate Biography:

William Ord Hart
Born: May 1, 1885 in Clay Co., Iowa
Child: William
Military Service: Army (WWI)
Died: December 15, 1942 near Fairfield, Utah

  • Hart died in a Western Airlines airplane crash that killed 17 of the 19 people aboard. His son Staff Sergeant William Clough Hart died one day later in a second airplane crash while traveling to his father's funeral. Sgt Hart died when the US Army transport airplane he was riding in lost engine power shortly after taking off near Blythe.
