Candidate Biography:

Died: January 16, 1879 in San Rafael, CA

1859: Pall Bearer, Funeral of US Senator David C. Broderick

  • Political Conventions by Davis notes that Deeth was an Assemblyman from San Francisco in the 1863 Session, which carried forward to the list of Assemblymembers maintained by the Secretary of the Senate. However, his name does not appear on the list of Assemblymembers found in the Assembly Journal for that session (12/7/1863).
  • On 13 May 1862, the legislature elected a Jacob Deeth (of San Francisco) to the board of Trustees for the State Reform School.
  • Jacob Deeth is listed as an Assemblymember-elect in an article in the Marysville Daily Appeal, Volume VII, Number 10, 13 January 1863.
  • An April 1863 article in the Daily Alta California (San Francisco) notes that the paper received a book from Assemblyman Jacob Deeth.
