  • LEGISLATION: Author of SB 200 (1980) to expand the State Water Project by constructing a Peripheral Canal.
  • PLACENAME: Ayala Drive in Rialto was named to honor Ayala. The City of Chino and San Bernardino County both have dedicated Ayala Parks in his honor. Ruben S. Ayala High School (Home of the Bulldogs) is located in Chino Hills.
  • Maurice Ayala ran for San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in 2004 (he lost with 14.15%).
