- LEGISLATION: Author of HR6 (1977) which changed the plural of members of the State Assembly from "Assemblymen" to "Assembly members" when the group includes women. Measure passed 72 to 5.

- Since 2007, Waters' Chief of Staff has been her grandson, Mikael Moore.
- QUOTABLE: "This is a tough game. You can't be intimidated. You can't be frightened. And as far as I'm concerned, the 'tea party' can go straight to hell."
- Censure: In April 2021, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy authored a resolution (H.Res.331 of 2021) to censure Waters for comments she made encouraging protesters to "get more confrontational" if police officer Derek Chauvin was not convicted for the death of George Floyd. On April 20th, the House voted to table the resolution with a vote of 216 to 210.
