Appointment Election
Appointment to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Lt. Governor John Garamendi following his election to Congress. Appointment made by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger had previously nominated Maldonado, but the confirmation was denied by the State Assembly.
