- Supreme Court Decision: In June 1969, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a law authored by Kehoe, SB 660 (1919), commonly known as the "California Criminal Syndicalism Act", was unconstitutional. The law, which banned advocating for the use of unlawful means to accomplish industrial or political change, was found to violate the first Amendment. (Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444)
