- NATURAL DISASTER (WILDFIRE): The second-largest of the Los Angeles County fires of 2025 (the Eaton Fire in January 2025) occurred within the districts represented by State Senator Sasha Renée Pérez and Assemblymen John Harabedian and Mike Fong.
- LEGISLATION: Author of SB 805 (Chapt. 126, Stats of 2025), the "No Vigilantes Act," which would require all law enforcement officers, including federal immigration agents, operating in California to visibly display identification when performing enforcement duties and makes it a misdemeanor to violate this provision. In April 2026, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals granted an injunction prohibiting the implementation of the law on the grounds that it likely violated the Supremacy Clause in the U.S. Constitution.
