  • In 1999, Conroy sued Todd Spitzer for defamation (Conroy v. Spitzer) for claims that Spitzer made during the 1996 Board of Supervisors race regarding a sexual harassment suit against Conroy from a former legislative staffer. The case was dismissed by Superior Court of Orange County as a SLAPP suit.
