  • LEGISLATION: Author of AB 858 (2003), which would have created the "California Racial Mascots Act" which would prohibit public schools from using the term Redskins as a school or athletic team name, mascot, or nickname commencing January 1, 2006. (Vetoed by the Governor on 9/21/04)
  • According to her biography in the Legislature handbook, Goldberg was the first self-identified lesbian elected to the Los Angeles City Council.
