Assemblyman James G. Gallagher (of San Francisco) in 1892 does not appear to have been the same person as 1900s San Francisco Supervisor James L. Gallagher (although they may have been related). James L.'s biography is below:

• Gallagher was appointed acting Mayor by the Board of Supervisors following Mayor Eugene Schmitz's arrest on felony corruption charges.
