  • In 1938, David Packard and Bill Hewlett started what would become the Hewlett-Packard Company in a rented garage in Palo Alto (frequently described as the "Birthplace of Silicon Valley") within the districts of State Senator Sanborn Young and Assemblyman Adron Beene.
  • Beene was 27 years old when elected to the Assembly in 1936.
  • Beene got married three days after his election to the Assembly.
