- CLOSE CONTEST: During the 2018 Primary, at the end of Election Night, Democrat Harley Rouda led Hans Keirstead by 73 votes. By that Thursday, June 7th, Keirstead led Rouda by 129 votes. As of June 8th, Keirstead led Rouda by 87 votes. On June 18th, Rouda retook the lead by a 40 vote margin. In the end, Rouda held a 125 vote (0.1%) lead.
