- LEGISLATION: Author of AB 1955 (Chapt. 95, Stats of 2024) the "SAFETY Act" which prohibits school districts from passing or enforcing policies requiring school staff to disclose a student’s gender identity or sexual orientation to anyone else without the child’s permission. In December 2025, a federal judge overturned the law, on the grounds that it violated parents' 14th Amendment right to direct the care and upbringing of their children as well as infringe upon teachers’ First Amendment rights.
