1966: Candidate for Mayor of Berkeley (Lost)

  • Legal Troubles: In 1969, Rubin was indicted for leading anti-war protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The California members of the "Chicago Eight" were Tom Hayden, and Bobby Seale.
     
  • On November 14, 1994, Rubin was struck and fatally injured by a car while jaywalking in Los Angeles, California. He died two weeks later.
