  • PLACENAME: Kentfield (in Marin County) is named after the Kent family, and Albert Emmet Kent (father of William) who bought the land in 1871. Kent Grove (Humdoldt County) is named for Congressman Kent.
  • Congressman Kent and his wife bought the land that now comprises the Muir Woods National Monument (Marin County) and donated it to the federal government.
