Maurice Bradley Browne
Born: August 22, 1877 in Tuolumne Co., California
Died: December 12, 1946 in San Joaquin Co., CA

  • LEGISLATION: Author of AB 171 (1925) which would have regulated the age of Motion Picture Operators. [The bill passed both houses but was killed by pocket veto]
  • NON-CONSECUTIVE TERMS: Browne is the most recent person to serve more than two non-consecutive terms in a single house of the California Legislature (Brown served his in the State Assembly). Since 1849, fifteen people have served three non-consecutive terms in the Assembly (and two others served four non-consecutive terms).
