2000-2006: Member, San Jose Human Rights Commission
2006-2008: Member, San Jose Planning Commission
2009-2016: Member, San Jose City Council

  • LEGISLATION: Principal author (with Assemblymembers Kevin McCartyAlex T. Lee, and Isaac Bryan) of AB 1577 (2022) which would have allowed legislative staff to form a union and engage in collective bargaining. (Died in Assembly Public Employment and Retirement Committee).
