  • In December 1953, "David Blodgett of Chicago, an admitted ex-Communist, told the House Un-American Activities Committee Thursday that Condon attended [a closed Communist Party meeting in 1948.]...  Condon, who firmly denied any connection with communism, said he recalled attending such a meeting as Blodgett described, but said he thought it was a trade union gathering called to discuss candidates in a political campaign he was managing."
