1883-1886: United States Attorney for the District of California
1894: Warren English successfully contested the Hilborn's election to Congress and took his seat on April 4, 1894.

  • CLOSE CONTEST: Hilborn narrowly won the 1892 General election when he defeated Warren B. English by 25 votes (0.1%).
