  • PLACENAME: Route 99 in Stanislaus County is named the "John G. Veneman Freeway." There is also a Veneman Avenue in Modesto named for the Assemblyman. 
  • Ann Veneman has served as Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Agriculture (1991-1993), Secretary of the US Department of Agriculture (2001–2005), and Executive Director of UNICEF (2005-2010).
