- PLACENAME: The Alfred W. Robertson Gymnasium (called "Rob Gym") at the UC Santa Barbara campus is named "for [the] state assemblyman who introduced and led the support for the bill to authorize the transfer of Santa Barbara State College to the University system in 1944." It was built in 1958, and remains today.
