  • CENSURE: In June 2023, the House of Representatives passed HR 521, by Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, which censured Schiff for "perpetuat[ing] false allegations from the Steele Dossier accusing numerous Trump associates of colluding with Russia" and "for misleading the American public and for conduct unbecoming of an elected Member of the House of Representatives" while serving as the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He is one of two California Members of Congress to be officially chastised in that way (the others being Charles H. Wilson). (Source)
  • In January 2023, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy rejected the appointments of Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell to the U.S. House Intelligence Committee, noting "It is my assessment that the misuse of this panel during the 116th and 117th Congresses severely undermined its primary national security and oversight missions - ultimately leaving our nation less safe.
