1980: Censured by the House of Representatives on June 10th for financial misconduct
1980: Primary Candidate for CD-31 (Lost; 15.3%)

  • Donald Wilson was a Primary candidate for AD-53 in 1974.
  • An incumbent who lost their party primary (in 1980)
  • CENSURE: In June 1980, the House of Representatives censured Wilson for financial misconduct (improper use of campaign funds). He is the only California congressman to be censured. (Source)
  • REPRIMAND: In 1978, the House of Representatives reprimanded Wilson for making false statements to a House committee. He is one of four California Members of Congress to be officially chastised in that way (the others being John J. McFall, Edward Roybal, and Laura Richardson) (Source)
