  • An incumbent who lost to a member of their own party (in 1968).
  • LEGAL TROUBLES: On April 14, 1965, McMillan was indicted by a Los Angeles County Grand Jury for allegedly soliciting a $10,000 bribe in exchange for helping to block the Marina Freeway in Culver City. The trial (which took place in July 1965) was heard by Judge Joseph A. Wapner.
